In recovery I am told to share my experience, strength and hope with others so that we may solve our common problem and recover for addiction.  Being new to the world of blogging I have only tried to offer only my experiences and leave out my opinions.  When I start giving my opinions I am really saying I know how to run your life better than you do, WRONG.  Lord, I couldn’t even run my own so I sure as heck have no business trying to run yours.  I say that to say this … there are many paths to sobriety and my blog is only my experience through my darkness, my moment of clarity and working the steps through a 12 step program.  My only aim here is to offer hope where there may be none.  There is another way and it works, it really does.

I’ve written previously about the 12 steps of recovery, outlining each one and my experience with them and my life as a sober productive member of society.  I’ve also written about my challenges, heartaches and joys since I got clean.  If you are new to the get clean blog I invite you go back through the writings starting at the beginning.  My blog is not intended to replace any 12 step program you may be attending or thinking of attending, its only purpose is to offer another perspective on the steps and my experience with each one individually.

I always pray and ask to be guided before I write, asking to be a channel … then its type type typing away.

I think this is turning out the way it is to remind me that we must CONTINUE to work the program on a daily basis and never allow ourselves to rest on our laurels.  If I do I need to know that addiction is a subtle foe and it will creep up when I least expect it.  God always seems to put in my mind exactly what I need to hear.

Coming up on an anniversary of a very devastating loss I need to remember first and foremost I am an addict, that I cannot stay clean alone and the program of recovery has given me two very important spiritual tools I can use, God and the 12 steps.  They work under ALL conditions, not just some but all conditions if I am willing.
