This is probably the most important BLOX you can hold onto every day and the most important BLOG you can read every day. Expert I am not but I am an addict who after many years of active addiction and nearly giving everything, including my life, to my addiction I had that moment of clarity that if I didn’t do something about the way I was living, I was going to die. I had suffered so many of the incompressible demoralizing consequences of my actions and had found myself in a very dark and scary place. When I got clean I was detoxing from 6 different substances, grossly underweight and nearly dead. If I hadn’t gotten clean when I did I am sure I wouldn’t be here today. My journey through recovery started in October of 2005 when I was taken to my first 12 step recovery meeting. Along the way there have been many bumps in the road and a few deep potholes but I’ve managed to stay clean and not pick up. Recovery is a process which requires honesty, open-mindedness and willingness. I share my fears, pains and joys with you in my blog in hopes that you can relate and know you are not alone. This is part of how I stay clean, I cannot keep what I have unless I give it away by sharing my experience, strength and hope with you. My only hope is that you find your way to recovery and a life free from drugs and alcohol. May God bless you and keep you.
