- The aggregative impacts of the Internet on all things complex; and
- Helping people find the best solutions for their life’s challenges
Robin began developing the idea of Mental Blox in 2007 and didn’t officially found and fund the company until almost three years later when in 2010 she began looking for a production facility and web developers.
Jackie Thomas, Robin’s sister, has been instrumental in the funding and concept development of Mental Blox. As an engineer she was integral in the manufacturing and development of the Blox themselves as well as the distribution strategy.
Why Mental Blox?
As Robin began strategizing the concept it became very clear that web-based aggregation was becoming a new trend in online news, information, and shopping funnels (Huffington Post, Wikipedia, Groupon, etc.). The more people were online, the more important it became to find information quickly in a comprehensive format.
So what is it like when someone is trying to lose weight or fix debt or find love?
Search engines provide dozens or hundreds of links to websites and information, but the follow up on those links becomes exhaustive and confusing for many of us. The harder the goal, the easier it is to quit looking for answers. The trend is to basically quit trying because it becomes too complicated to continue to find the numerous resources it takes to help us meet our complex challenges.
It’s much easier to find a single resource (construction contractor, dentist), but trying to find resources that will cumulatively guide you on your path to reaching an important goal is much more difficult.
Mental Blox was designed to provide an aggregate approach to motivation, which didn’t exist before our 2011 launch. For more information about why we started Mental Blox, see video below:
